Fabulous Room Friday 04.01.10

all1

There are so many fun design elements present in this home, belonging to Annie Salem, a friend of Sam Sano’s from Style/Swoon and co-author of The Now with partner, Elizabeth Midgett. I love the use of bold patterns, like the zig zag rug, vintage furniture and great lighting, art and accessories. She was able to give a new construction home so much character.

{Rather than putting a console table behind the sofa, Annie chose to maximize the space by adding a functional desk instead.}

{I love this nook on the opposite side of the room!}

The small details make this space, and that nook is perfection. Do you know what type of chairs those are?

I'm currently enamored with the fresh teals of this season, so that little pop of color caught my eye. I also like the way she tucked the small desk behind the sofa. Many of us need multifunctional furniture ideas for small spaces - and this is a good one.

Very smart way to utilize the space. The bookcase is so adorable and fits the purpose too.

Hi everyone - it's Annie Salem. Thanks to everyone for their incredibly kind comments about my home. I was SO incredibly lucky to have had Sam Sano of style/SWOON (both my designer and personal friend) design my downstairs for me. She is FABULOUS! Sam took my vision and executed it beyond what I could have ever imagined. Be sure to visit style/SWOON if you haven't already!

And many thanks to Paloma for the Fabulous Room Friday feature =)

xoxo Annie
